Sunday Night=time to think about things.

Sunday night! Super Bowl Night! I didnt watch it. I have been thinking about the great quality of life here and whether or not is it worth staying here. I just put the baby to bed and sat back down to do some typing. I always have a hard time getting them down, just like doing things with them. i also like having some down time. The kids are like the Energizer Bunny! They just go until they drop from the lack of energy. Back to the quality of life...I dont like the smog and the haze anymore. The cold is hard right now and the days are just not long enough, just not enough sunlight. I have always been wanting to take a vacation to some place where there are smooth sandy beaches, turquoise water and lots of sun. I have heard that the beaches in Mexico are nice...I have never been there. I would love to get to the Pacific Coast for just a little bit, a small vacation so that the rest of winter here can be a little more tollerable. I would love to just wander up and down a beach, find a nice spot and just lounge. Oh and of course have some one just bring me nice, cool, fruity drinks! Well, it is always good to hope for some change.
I went with my wife recently to a time share sales pitch. What a pain in the rear end! Nothing like a little pressure to spend thousands of dollars on "points". You dont even get a real unit with a deed showing your week of ownership in a complex. What you do get is the ability to buy something that you dont get anysort of ownership in, kind of strange. They just show you the beaches and the wonderful places you can go, but oh! the cost! It is funny exactly how many of the classic sales pitches you can spot in the presentation. The new things they have added to the arsenal is the guilt factor, " if you dont do this your kids will not have the special memories" that they will take with them into old age. What a crock! It is a day by day adventure, it doesnt have to be just one week a year...it can be whenever you want to take the time to share some of yourself with your kids. It is hard to open yourself up and show some of your close feelings and things that make you YOU!

Dishes

Sure is funny how taking time to fold the laundry or doing a sink full of dishes helps clear your mind and be able to think a little more clearly. It helps me to remember what is important (other than clean dishes), and helps me feel as if I actually accomplished something. I think that it is hard sometimes to relax and do nothing, that has to be the hardest thing to do. I am always thinking of things that need to be done or that i could be doing to make full use of the time I have. Sometimes I wish that we could just put ourselves in "time-out". Make us do nothing for about an hour or two, just to slow down and not have to worry about anything, except if I am stacking the dishes correctly and efficiently in the dishwasher so that i can get the most in for the cleaning cycle!

Getting ready for Christmas!

Well, I have been hanging e-ornaments on friends trees that have pages on Facebook and that got me thinking about all that we have been doing here to get ready for Christmas. We just put the tree up on Sunday and it turned out to be a very beautiful tree. We used some ornaments we bought from a year ago but were brand new. Rhett and Ava were just so estatic to be putting it up that they were bouncing off the wall! Ava of course had to hang the ornaments herself....we only lost 2 of the frosted glass balls. Yep, they shattered very nicely on the tile floor. Ava was singing songs and was so happy that her "house looked like Christmas". I would love to hear about some of your experiances with getting ready for the holiday.....and see some pics too! especially of your trees and decorations....
